Abwoch Medical Outreach Extends Essential Screening and Reproductive Health Services

On 3 July 2026, Acholi Women in Health Foundation (AWIHF) conducted a Medical Outreach Programme at Abwoch Health Center III as part of our continuing effort to bring integrated, community-based healthcare services closer to underserved families.

The outreach offered general medical consultations and screening, reproductive health services, HIV screening and counseling, breast cancer screening and awareness, sickle cell screening and awareness, and cervical cancer awareness, creating a single community touchpoint where women, girls, and families could access essential information and frontline care.

By combining preventive education with practical screening and referral-oriented support, the Abwoch outreach reflected AWIHF's model of programme delivery: meeting communities where they are, strengthening early health-seeking behavior, and connecting local people to dignified care pathways.
